Merry Christmouse!

Time for a Christmas Card and matching tag!

I had a colouring in session with some of my LOTV Christmas digital stamps.  I have had these digital images since 2021/2022 and I don't think I have used them yet :(

I used my computer to place the two LOTV graphics 'Christmouse Pudding' & 'Christmouse Decorations' along the bottom of an A4 page for the cardfront.  The sentiment graphic was then placed below it.

For the Tag, another copy of the 'Christmouse Pudding' was placed at the top of the A4 page and resized, with a portion of the image removed, leaving just the mouse with the pudding.  A sentiment graphic was then positioned below it.

Once the graphics were printed, I then set about colouring it in with Copics, finishing with Kindy Glitz.

Slimline/DL sized card was made with Red leathergrain cardstock, and completed cardfront attached to cardbase.

The Tag was hand cut to suit, then a red ribbon added.

I had lots of fun making this set :)  Now to get on with some more cardmaking!

Noel, Joy, Merry.....

Here are are few more Christmas Cards I managed to make this year - quite pleased with myself!

I bought some digital images a while back from RAM Stamps (Rachelle Anne Miller) and I thought it was about time I used them.  I must say, they have been a pleasure to use and to colour in.

Card#1
RAM Christmas Noel Image printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured in with Copics, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  Handmade background ruling lines with Copics.  Centre panel cut with Spellbinders Deckle edge dies & edges highlighted with Kindy Glitz and added to cardfront using foam squares.

Card#2
RAM Christmas Joy Image printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured in with Copics, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  Green DP used for a background.  Centre panel cut with Spellbinders Deckle edge dies & edges highlighted with Green Copics and added to cardfront using foam squares.

Card#3
RAM Christmas Merry Image printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured in with Copics, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  Striped DP used for a background with edges 'stressed' to add interest.  Centre panel cut with Rectangle Dies and added to cardfront using foam squares.

Card#4
RAM Australian Birds Image printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured in with Copics, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  DP used for a background.  Centre panel cut with 'scalloped edge' die and added to cardfront using foam squares.

Card#5
I created a background in Photoshop, printed onto 210gsm cardstock, and foiled with 'Mini Minc' in Red foil.  The RAM Kangaroo Christmas Surprise image was printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured with Watercolour Pencils, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  Image was then fussy cut, and added to cardfront with foam squares.

CardSwap - March - TicTacToe + Sketch

Time for my March Swap Cards for CraftMad - this time using a sketch + TicTacToe.

Card 1 - sketch + TicTacToe

For my first card, I started following the sketch, but as I played with it, the more I started following the TicTacToe as well.  In the end, I went with bottom row - neutral/ribbon/patterned paper.

First up, I stamped, coloured in and die cut some cats from the Uniquely Creative Purrfect stamp set, then placed them on some vellum circles cut with Spellbinders Circle dies.

Patterned paper was placed on the left side and white cardstock embossed with Dots using my Cuttlebug placed on the right side - a ribbon was used to cover up the join.  Vellum circles were then added to cardfront using double-sided tape.  To finish, cardfront edges were inked slightly to emphasis the edges, then added to the cardbase.

Card 2

I played with some new stamps (new for me).  I recently received a prize in the mail from Christina of Flowers,Ribbons and Pearls.  Each Friday Christina has a giveaway for her followers and I was lucky enough to win in January and by February, the magazine & stamps were in my hot little hands!

Thank you so much Christina, and for the little extras in the package too!  you are most generous!

I was itching to have a play with these stamps - I usually struggle with cards for males and I think these stamps will really help with the creativity.

Following the sketch layout, I cut 3 circles and stamped them with some of the text/elements in StazOn ink.  I then used the 'road map' stamp and stamped that on some DP, then trimmed to size.  The 'tyre tracks' were stamped, then circles placed to follow the sketch layout.

The TicTacToe elements followed for this card were middle row:   masculine/die cut/ink.

Happy Anniversary & Valentines Day

It is that time of year again!

42 years ago, on 13th February 1982, we got married.

14th February is Valentines Day

I had a bit of fun this year with my card.

I purchased some lovely digital graphics from ETSY recently and had a play around on the computer designing a card.

As an added touch, I used Dimensional Magic on the balloon heart.

Happy Purrthday!

A fun birthday card for my BFF today

Purrfect (stamps & dies) from Uniquely Creative Stamps were the purrfect choice for this card! and the colours from Color Throwdown were the purrfect colour inspiration!
Stamped & die cut a selection of cats, then shaded very softly with grey copics.  Using the circle from Lawn Fawn Magic Holiday set, two circles were cut away from Card topper, and two circles were cut from silver foil card and placed underneath.  Cats were strategically positioned with 3d foam.... you have no idea how many combinations I tried!

The sentiment was stamped and diecut twice, then layered, with some bling added as a final touch.

The Critter Crazy Challenge #70 is 'Anything goes' with a featured critter - I think this counts! :)

Items Used

Happy Birthday Sharon

Another birthday, this time for Sister-in-Law Sharon - I had great plans for a specific type of card for this one.  I ordered some dies & stamps back in December, but as yet they haven't arrived - backlog of Christmas & Covid delays seem to have impacted my anticipated delivery date ........

I waited until after the postie delivered mail on Friday, to give my package every opportunity to arrive, but alas, it was not to be.

.... so, a 'Plan B' had to be implemented

I have a wide variety of stamps in rubber, clear and digital, but for this one, I chose the MFT Adorable Elephants clear set.

The As You Like It Challenge asks us to nominate which type of stamp we prefer - it is difficult to chose, but I guess clear polymer wins .... just (mostly for being able to see exactly where you are stamping).

For this card, I wanted something a little fun, so I stamped up one of elephants, coloured it in with watercolour pencils and cut it out by hand, then die cut a balloon from holographic/metallic cardstock.

I attached the balloon with some wire stems cut-off from paper flowers, then affixed the elephant with a handmade wobble!  Strategically placed some glitter .... and voila!

I hope the video works of the card wobbling, I've never done one before LOL - isn't modern technology wonderful!  LOL

We had cake & coffee on Sunday at Sharon's place - it was so nice to be able to get together again - we hadn't seen any of the family since Christmas Eve.

Even though we are in a wonderful position with Covid-19 here in South Australia, we are still social distancing and sanitizing like crazy whenever we are out (which is not very often).  Mr Fixit likes staying at home, but I get a bit of cabin fever every now and then, and just need to get out and about with my camera ...... I find it soothes the soul.

Here is a photo I took in October in Robe, South Australia - I think it is time to get out and about for a few days again real soon!

Cheers for now, hope you have a great day!

You have a Birthday and you have a birthday ... and you have a birthday

It's that time of year where we have a group of birthdays close together - 2 great nephews, 1 niece and myself.

At least it gave me the opportunity to do some cardmaking - something that I realise I have missed, once I started pulling the cards together.

For the great nephew turning 6, I knew I wanted to use the new stamps I recently got from Blue Edge Crafts

Linking above card with Seize the Birthday - using scraps  This card was made using off-cuts of cardstock - the pirate & sentiment were stamped on an off-cut too :)

then, for the great nephew turning 4, I used these cute stamps from Stampology, Mindy's Zoo
Linking above card with 2CraftyCritters Challenge #43

For the niece, I used these lovely stamps from Stampin' Up, and did a bit of paper piecing :)

With Covid-19 restrictions still in place, we decided to have just a small gathering at our place :)

My own birthday celebrations were fairly quiet - just the two of us, we had our favourite Chinese food for tea (we got take away)

We are thankful here in SA, we have so few cases - they are in Quarantine - but we still need to be  mindful of the various restrictions.

This is about as much 'bling' as Mr Fixit can handle LOL

and because we got married the day before St Valentines Day, the theory was that he would never forget the date :)  .......  LOL it always sneaks up on him .....

Happy Birthday Joy!

It was my friend Joy's birthday during last week and we arranged to go out for tea on Friday night.

Locals (South Aussies) will know that Friday, was a pretty hot day with a top temperature of  38.7C - that was just so very hot!!!.  Unfortunately, Mr Fixit does not do well in the heat, neither does Mrs Fixit if I am honest, so we begged off driving 45 mins in the heat, and arranged to get together another time.

Anyway, I was all prepared with birthday card and present, but Joy will have to wait until I next see her for her goodies :)
