Cards by Request - 16th and 50th Birthday

The card I made for Mr Fixit's workmate's engagement, see post HERE, was well received.

I received a request to make up another two cards - one for a 50th Birthday, and one for a 16th Birthday.

The 50th Birthday card was for someone who works in the Audio Visual industry, so I used an image of the speakers he actually uses in his business ;-)

Card was designed in Silhouette Studio, printed on shimmer card stock, cut out using the CraftROBO, highlighted with metal brads and elements were layered using foam dots.

next up, is the 16th Birthday Card
The recipient of this card plays drums and saxaphone ;-)

This was cut out using the CraftROBO, designed in Silhouette Studio.  16 was embossed with musical folder in Cuttlebug, stickers placed on acetate and cut out, layered on front of card.  Inside was embellished with some stickers, ready for a handwritten sentiment from the giver ;-)

I enjoyed the challenge to create these cards within such a tight timeframe - not something I want to make a habit of - but it was great to be cardmaking again ;-)

I would like to enter the above cards in the following challenges:
Speaker Card
Anything Goes Challenge - #87 Make it Manly
Craft Room Challenge - Something for a Man

Creative Card Crew - Birthday

16 Card
Creative Card Crew - Birthday
Songbird Challenge - 16 going on 17

My First International Custom Invitation Order

I have completed my first international custom invitation order - it's on its way to USA!

I was asked to provide 30 clown shaped invites to Jennie for her daughter's 2nd birthday.

I must say processing the order was a real challenge as Paypal decided to have a hissy fit and not work with ETSY - but we found a work around - Jennie was a real gem in being willing to find another way ;-)

progress shot - first batch drying ;-)

I must admit, it was a challenge doing 30 of them in such a tight timeframe - having to allow 6-10 working days for postage from Australia to USA puts a real spanner in the works ;-)

A cow of a card ;-)

I had some fun with my CraftROBO during the week and decided to submit a card for the challenge 37 shaped card over on CraftyCatz.

I found some cute free clip art  HERE and had a fun few hours experimenting with the print & cut features of the CraftROBO
The inside is some lovely big rubon words

WOYWW 12th May 2010 - Happy Birthday - 60th & 80th

Whilst I have been busy on the baby quilts over the last week or so, I thought I should really do some cardmaking - my desk was feeling left out ;-)

so I made it all messy again! although, some of you would say not very messy!

Belated birthday card for my friend Cate - am having lunch with her today and will be able to give to her in person - YAY!

Birthday card for an old work colleague, Gail

My second 'commissioned' card from Cate to give to Gail - this image even makes me think of Gail LOL

inside - Gail loves champers!

The final finished card for my first 'commission' 80th Birthday card for my friend's Dad.

Must be off - am catching the bus into the city so that I can have a few 'champers'  LOL

Don't forget, if you want to have a nosey on other people's workdesks, pop on over WOYWW using the link on the sidebar - it is a whole lot of fun!

You're the best Dad ever!

I find it most difficult to make male cards.

A friend has asked me to make a card for her Dad's 80th birthday.

this is what I have come up with - I was originally inspired by a card I saw on SCS here

I am thinking of putting an embellishment of the number '80' in the top right hand area

the white balance is not quite right and the image has been coloured in a bit rough, but I will do it properly if Clare decides she would like this card.

I finally got to use up some of metal brads that have been in my stash for such a long time!
The inside of the card is blank for the moment, but I think I would put this stamp on the inside.

Any suggestions?
