Wedding Anniversary Card

Here is the card I made for hubby on our 27th Wedding Anniversary. I came across the saying somewhere on the net - I can't remember where - and thought it was beautiful.

I made the hearts by heat embossing a large area with red embossing powder and punching out different size hearts. Hearts were mounted with 3D tape to give a raised effect. I then coloured in gold corner stickers with red texta.

I am pleased with the way this turned out - I didn't want it to be too girly ;-)

Cuttlebug Challenge #18 - Bring on the Bling

Here is my card for the Cuttlebug Challenge #18 - Bring on the bling!
I used spellbinder nestabilities to create feature square, layered on gold cardstock, wiped gold ink over background, wrapped with sparkle ribbon, placed kindy glitz (stickles) enhanced flower with gold heart brad, added 3 gem hearts, highlighted corners with gold stickers, stamped 'thank you' twice with a slight overlap.
Unfortunately, the photo does not really show the bling aspect - will experiment to see if I can get a better photo.
I love bling!

2008 Adelaide Royal Show - Open Art & Craft - 1st & 3rd Prizes

Here are my 2008 entries
the plate on the left got 3rd prize. This technique is known as French Dimensions and is applied a bit like icing using a nozzle. The plate went through 3 firings before being finished.

the soap dispenser on right got 1st prize. This technique is marbling, the gold overglaze is layered on top of a container of water, and then the item is gently placed in contact with the surface and rolled to get the marble effect. As the unfired gold liquid is black and the soap dispenser is also black, you have no idea what the end result will be until it is fired. It is definitely a leap of faith when doing this type of work.

Here they are on display at the Royal Show.
Now to decide what to enter in the 2009 show!

2006 Adelaide Royal Show - Open Art & Craft - Third Prize

As requested by my friend Linda - I will post some of my ceramic pieces.
here is my first entry in the 2006 Royal Adelaide Agricultural & Horticultural Show Open Art & Craft, ceramics section - I won a Third Prize!
Here is my next entry - hand painted kookaburra and wombat - the technique is known as 'dry brushing' - Third Prize as well!
I was so surprised to win!

Using up off-cuts

This card has been made using some cardstock from my ever increasing stash of off-cuts ;-)

The layout was in a magazine I think. Using SU Little Bit of Happiness - with an extra layered circle that was watercoloured and gem added. The dark purple cardstock was stamped with single flower from SU Pocket of Posies with Perfect Medium. Sections are highlighted with gold border stickers.

must be off now - washing awaits - will be back later.

cuttlebug challenge #17

Here is my card for Challenge #17 for the Cuttlebug Spot.
Being relatively new to both blogging and the Cuttlebug, I have decided to keep my card simple. I love the crispness of the background. The image is from Stampin' Up, Sassy Stems, all layers are hand cut and corner punched (I didn't have my nestabilities when I made this card). I came across the beautiful ribbon in Cheap as Chips.
I can honestly say "I love my Cuttlebug"

PAGTHS Reunion - November 2008

Here are some of the girls in my 1976 year of high school - Ms Nikitins (teacher) is far right.
We had a ball on the day - lots of hugs, kisses, laughter & tears - it was wonderful to see so many people again.

TECC#25

This is a card I made inspired by Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #25.
I just love this House Mouse stamp! The cardstock used was SU, the polka dot paper was just a piece in my scrap stash!
I was quite pleased how this card turned out.
I did not actually submit this card as I came across the challenge quite some time it was issued.
