Happy 30th Anniversary!

Our long-time friends celebrate their 30th Wedding Anniversary this coming weekend.

A perfect opportunity for me to use some new stamps & dies I bought last year.

I stamped the bottle & wine glasses on silver cardstock and die cut them out, then stamped sentiment & 'bubble bursts' on lavender cardstock.   Wine glasses & Bottle were added with 3D foam, with the number 30 from a silver sticker sheet added to the bottle.

Highlights of Kindy Glitz around the outer edge and sequins were added, then I placed the topper on white cardstock using 3D foam.

All in all, a simple but effective card, which the happy couple loved as we gave it to them during the week.

Long Time Friends

We had a bit of a cold snap here in Adelaide yesterday - so it was a good excuse to hunker down, put on Masterchef Australia and do a bit of crafting.

Last year, I came across some second hand stamps - they were in great condition :)

I stamped the image on white cardstock and coloured in with chalks, layered topper on green shimmer cardstock.

Sweet Birthday Wishes

I was inspired to craft today ...... I didn't want to do any housework LOL
I had recently tidied up my craft room (well part of my craft room, I can see carpet now!)

I got some new stamps a little while ago, and I was eager to use them up.

I stamped the images twice - once on the card front to mark their positions, then again on another sheet.  I coloured them with Copics, cut out using the matching dies, then mounted on the card with 3D mounting tape and highlighted with Kindy Glitz.

Sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado Cupcakes set I have had for many years!

I was inspired by a sketch on Freshly Made Sketches :)

2019 ..... not a good start :(

Hi there to my fellow blog readers :)

Happy New Year to you all - 2019 has started with a heat wave here in Adelaide!

Sadly, one of the first cards I needed to make for the year was a sympathy card.

My friend Sue's husband Keith died after a short battle with brain cancer - such a terrible disease!  I have known Sue and her brother Roger since my days of St Clair roller skating the 70's.  We have caught up quite a few times in recent years, and it was such a shock to learn of Keith's diagnosis.

I find some sympathy cards difficult to make - but this one came to me very easily!  You see, Keith was a musician and was in several bands here in Adelaide, most recently "Hot Chisel" a Cold Chisel cover band.

Happy Birthday & Happy Anniversary

Time for Family birthdays again!

I was happy to find a little more cardmaking mojo after my previous card for Mandy, and tried a little experiment for the sister-in-law Rosa's birthday card.

I played with some Digital graphics from Creative Market  in Photoshop, added text and printed on linen cardstock.  Highlighted features with Kindy Glitz - quite happy with my result!

Then for brother-in-law Greg's birthday card, I returned to rubber stamping - stamping 3 candles from Kaisercraft birthday set multiple times, coloring in with sharpies and highlighting with Kindy Glitz, sentiment is black peel off stickers.

Then we come to their wedding anniversary - they got married on Rosa's birthday, so Greg has no excuse to forget LOL

I stuck with some simple stamping with Stampin' Up Little Bit of Happiness - Love stamp, stamped using Chocolate Chip - my all time fave Stampin' Up ink.  Sadly my little ink pads are starting to dry out and I am hoping to find some refills around the traps.  I used to think Stampin' Up stuff was expensive, but I have found them to be great quality stamps and the ink pads I have been using since 2008!  So I believe, if you look after them, they are great value for money!

All cardstock from Blue Edge Crafts.

Always wanted to see your name in lights?

Well, that was the thinking behind this card I recently made for my friend's neighbour's 50th birthday :)  He was having a Bollywood themed birthday party, and Joy asked if I could make a card to suit.

Happy Birthday - 50th

the elephant wobbles :)

Happy Birthday - 50th

here is another card I made after being motivated with all that bling!

I usually use Gold on my cards, in one way shape or form - either gold heat embossing, or gold stickers - that and some form of bling ..... you can't go wrong with bling!

New Baby | Happy 30th Birthday

I finally managed to get the new baby card that I mentioned in my previous post done & dusted, and I must say, I am really pleased with how it turned out.

When I went hunting for what type of card I was going to make for my new great nephew, Archie, I looked through my stamps and found a Lily of the Valley stamp I hadn't used.  So I went looking for layouts I could use to incorporate that stamp.

I was inspired by a card created for an old challenge blog called Here Come the Boys by Sharon, unfortunately, the blog doesn't exist any more, it closed in 2013 - but I did save the image as inspiration for the future.

Several layers have been cut with Spellbinders dies, Lily of the Valley stamp hand coloured with copics, embellished with liquid paint & kindy glitz, and a ribbon.

It is also my niece's 30th Birthday - so here is the card I made for her :)

I would like to submit my baby card to the following challenges:
Dream Valley Challenges - #142 one for the boys
CAS-ual Fridays (layer it on) - CFC158 (my card has 8 layers)
Daring Cardmakers: Seriously Monochromatic
Sunny Day Crafting - Anything goes

Whiff of Joy GD - Take Two

I wanted to have another go at the sketch for the Whiff of Joy Guest Designer Call  ;-)  I was actually tidying up my craft room and found myself playing with paper combinations instead of tidying up!

Wedding Carriage stamp hand coloured with combination of watercolour pencils and Stampin' Up inks highlighted with kindy glitz.

Edges of Kaisercraft DP distressed and bling added to paper flowers.

Silver peel off sentiment added to number plate.

circles, squares & fleur de lis border cut & embossed with spellbinder dies using cuttlebug.

This one I am happier with, but I managed to muck up the number plate on the carriage at the very end ;-(
