Using up stash and trash

The February card swap for CraftMad was to use up your stash/trash to make a card - I did a bit of both :)

With the above card, I used the paper flowers from my stash - I think these flowers have been made up ready to go for about 3-4 years, and the white strip embossed with hearts is actually the white strip of cardboard from the Lipton Tea Bag box.

For the above card, I used up the card topper that I cut out from a GSD file using the CraftROBO and has been sitting in my stash for years - just waiting for a special occasion to use it!

34 years ago, I said "I Do" .....

.... best decision I ever made!

It is our 34th Wedding Anniversary today and here is the combined Anniversary & Valentines card I whipped up for Mr Fixit

Stamped with a Penny Black image from 'Piece of my Heart', hand coloured with copics and highlighted with the obligatory kindy glitz/Stickles.  Mr Fixit has a real sweet tooth, so the image is appropriate :)
Inside the card reads:  More than chocolate!

Linking with the following challenges:
CASology - Week 184: Valentine
The Stamping Boutique - I Love You
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - use Hearts and/or Red It's a bit hard to see but there is a heart shaped decoration on one of the cakes, and the ribbon is red (flimsy connection, I know :) )
The Card Concept - Sweethearts (inspired by 'sweet')

that's it from me this week - another card on the way next week :)

Thank you for visiting my blog today - I hope you have a good day.

CraftMad card swap

I promised myself I would make more cards this year :)

So I have started of with a few swap cards - with my CraftMad group.

January swap was to use a Tic-Tac-Toe grid

Here are the cards I made for Merry, my partner.

Middle Row: Embossing/Gems/Ribbon

Linking this card with the following challenges:
Less is More - Week 261 - Lucky Dip (Australian connection - Summer flowers, and my CraftMad group is in Australia :) )

First Column:  Stitching/Embossing/Buttons
A bit of a special mix with this one :)  Stitching is the theme of the card, with both types of embossing - heat & pressure and cute little buttons on the side of the card.

Thank you for visiting my blog today - I hope you have a good day.

Sympathy Card ...... what do you say .....

on the loss of a child :(    there are just no words  :(

As a butterfly graces our lives
with one moment's fragile beauty,
so too has your baby's presence blessed you,
and those that surround you
with their short life and unique spirit.
May you find peace, and joy
with each butterfly that passes,
knowing that your baby lives on
in the hearts of all they touched.

I wish I could find the website where I saw this most beautiful verse - I usually take note so that I can give credit, but I wanted to get this is the mail over to USA as quickly as possible.
