Thanks

A Thank You card was needed and CASology challenge provided some inspiration for this one.  'Botanical' which for me, means greens for plants, blues for sky, yellows for flowers, and ladybugs!
Cardz 4 Galz encourages us to use a sentiment as the focal point.

One of the 'smooched & spritzed' techniques I have been playing with recently for backgrounds has been used on this card - utilsing blues, greens & yellows.

Simple text 'thanks' has been diecut & layered with 3D foam and a cute ladybug diecut in black & red.

Cardfront panel has been diecut using Spellbinders 'deckle edge' rectangle and added to cardbase.

34 years ago, I said "I Do" .....

.... best decision I ever made!

It is our 34th Wedding Anniversary today and here is the combined Anniversary & Valentines card I whipped up for Mr Fixit

Stamped with a Penny Black image from 'Piece of my Heart', hand coloured with copics and highlighted with the obligatory kindy glitz/Stickles.  Mr Fixit has a real sweet tooth, so the image is appropriate :)
Inside the card reads:  More than chocolate!

it's been a while .....

since I last posted a card - the cardmaking mojo has disappeared somewhat, and I have only been making a few cards, as and when they are needed.  Then, I have been forgetting to take a photo of the finished item before it is given, and that means no blogging about the cards either :(  not a happy camper!

But I have been a bit better organised in the photography department lately :)  I went on a weekend away with my camera club.  In fact, my friend and fellow camera club member, Joy picked me up and we shared a cabin together.  We went to Lake Bonney, South Australia and stayed in the Lake Bonney Caravan Park.  (see other photos from the weekend on my other blog HERE)

Anyway ......... back to the reason for this blog post :)  We shared accommodation, food & petrol costs, but I wanted to let her know that I appreciated her company (and her driving!) over the entire weekend.

Heartfelt Thanks

With Sympathy | Thinking of you

Sadly, I have been in need of two sympathy cards this past week .... both for some very dear school friends :(

My primary school friend Debbie lost her Mother-in-Law just before Mother's Day, and one of my High School friends, Jill, lost her Mum on Tuesday after Mother's Day.

I had been having a tidy up and came across a 6" paper stack that came free with a magazine, and that started me on my colour theme - soft teals and oranges.

I had also just purchased some Just Rite stamps and had a lovely flower that matched the papers beautifully! The flower was stamped on the back of some embossed DP which give just a hint of texture.

Then I came across the most perfect sketch at a CAS #241 - but as I worked with the layout, I decided to make it square

I would like to submit these cards to the following challenges:
CAS #241 - sketch
CAS-Fridays #101 - stamp on DP
CASology #44 - Bloom
JustRite - colour theme: orange, teal and cream/beige
