Noel, Joy, Merry.....

Here are are few more Christmas Cards I managed to make this year - quite pleased with myself!

I bought some digital images a while back from RAM Stamps (Rachelle Anne Miller) and I thought it was about time I used them.  I must say, they have been a pleasure to use and to colour in.

Card#1
RAM Christmas Noel Image printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured in with Copics, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  Handmade background ruling lines with Copics.  Centre panel cut with Spellbinders Deckle edge dies & edges highlighted with Kindy Glitz and added to cardfront using foam squares.

Card#2
RAM Christmas Joy Image printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured in with Copics, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  Green DP used for a background.  Centre panel cut with Spellbinders Deckle edge dies & edges highlighted with Green Copics and added to cardfront using foam squares.

Card#3
RAM Christmas Merry Image printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured in with Copics, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  Striped DP used for a background with edges 'stressed' to add interest.  Centre panel cut with Rectangle Dies and added to cardfront using foam squares.

Card#4
RAM Australian Birds Image printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured in with Copics, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  DP used for a background.  Centre panel cut with 'scalloped edge' die and added to cardfront using foam squares.

Card#5
I created a background in Photoshop, printed onto 210gsm cardstock, and foiled with 'Mini Minc' in Red foil.  The RAM Kangaroo Christmas Surprise image was printed onto 210gsm cardstock, coloured with Watercolour Pencils, highlights with Kindy Glitz.  Image was then fussy cut, and added to cardfront with foam squares.

Happy Easter

I felt like doing some foiling and Copic colouring today.

I love this 'easter tree' digi stamp from LOTV - my Sister-in-law has an 'easter egg tree' ornament that she puts on display each year - so that is who I am going to give this card to.

I printed digi stamp and the sentiment 'Happy Easter' using a font called 'Tinker Toy' with the Laser Printer. The sentiment was foiled in Gold and the digi stamp was foiled in Green.

I then coloured the image with some lovely pastel shades using my Copic Markers.

The cardfront was trimmed down to fit on a DL sized cardbase, and a final touch of bling added.

I really like the simplicity of this one - nice and easy to put in the mail too!

I have been inspired by quite a few challenges for this card.

The As You Like It challenge asks us to nominate what is our fave - People or Animals.  I think it has to be Animals .... hands down!  They are such fun to colour in!

Several other challenges have Easter as the theme and these have influenced my colour choices.

Thank You for all you do!

I have had a very busy week of spring cleaning.  It is actually the start of Autumn for us here is Australia, and I was motivated by the slightly cooler weather!  So today, I gave myself the day off and I have been playing in my Craft Room!

Card #1 - Pink

I stamped up the flowers from Altenew BAF Coneflower using Versafine Onyx Black and heat embossed with WOW Clear embossing powder.  Flowers were layered using shades of pink/purple and greens, then diecut.  I rumaged through by stash of Scrapbooking cardstock & DP & snippets of cardstock to pick some pleasing colour combinations for the background.   Flower was placed on cardfront with 3D foam dots for added dimension.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black & heat embossed, die cut twice & layered, then placed on the front of the card with 3D foam.

Card #2 - Green & Gold

Followed the same process as Card #1, but this time I chose Greens as the predominant colour.

The sentiment was stamped with Dark Green ink, die cut with a Spellbinders Tag twice & layered, Gold Cord added to tag, then placed on the front of the card with 3D foam.

I quite enjoyed making these cards, even though I am really NOT a fan of Green :)  You have to try something out of your comfort zone every now and then!

Both of my cards have been inspired by the sketch in Freshly made Sketches #575.

Love You ......

It's that time of year for us ........ we celebrate our 41st Wedding Anniversary on 13th February, and of course, 14th February is Valentines Day  ...

Here is the Anniversary/Valentines card I made for Mr Fixit

On the inside of the card it says "I think I will keep you!"

Sentiment (font: Finesse) printed with laser Printer, the heart shape was foiled in Red with the MiniMinc.  Centre panel was die cut with Spellbinders, then background was ink blended with a brush using Distress Ink (Candied Apple) while still inside the die, giving another border effect, without adding an extra layer.

Centre panel was then layered onto red cardstock, then mounted onto black leathergrain (300 gsm) cardbase using foam dots.

Red Gems and Black Bling hearts added as a finishing touch!

There are so many challenges with a 'love' theme at the moment :) it is a real love fest out there!

The 'InspiredBy' challenge inspired the placement of the two overlapping heart shapes I used.
The 'Inspiration Station' challenge inspired the use of red hearts.
The 'TicTacToe' challenge, I chose Across Middle Row: Red/Free/Love Sentiment
The 'Try it on Tuesday' challenge theme is 'all you need is love' ......

Happy New Year!

It's really hot here in Adelaide today, so I am inside playing in the Craft Room.

I made a Happy New Year card ........  something fun and light-hearted to lift the spirits!

I started with a freebie digital image from Gerda Steiner and played around with colouring it, then I added some Dimensional Magic to the stars, some Kindy Glitz to the hats & scarves.  I printed 'Happy New Year' with the laser printer, then foiled it in Gold (it doesn't show up very well in this photo, but it is really shiny!)

Cardfront was then mounted onto black 250gsm card .... simples!  No layers, no flowers, clean lines.

Inspired By challenge is 'happy new year' and it has gold bits in the photo

Also, sharing my card with the artist, Gerda Steiner :)  This image was great to work with, I will have to have another look at what else is available :)

This card is also a card for Creative Crafters Challenge on Facebook :)

Happy Birthday x 2 & Happy Anniversary

It's getting to the pointy end of the year, LOL

November .......... it will be Christmas in a matter of weeks ....... where does the time go?

My Sister In-Law & Brother In-Law celebrate birthdays and their wedding anniversary in November & December, so we all usually get together for the triple celebration!

I am still playing with my Mini Minc and getting to know the various different settings to use when using the different cardstock.

So, first up, we have a birthday card for my Sister In-Law, inspired by a card I saw in a Newsagency ....
I had a play in Photoshop and came up with this ....

A mix of digital graphics printed on an ink jet, and shapes & text printed on a Laser, then foiled.  Layered onto patterned scrapbook paper, on white 300gsm card.  There are a few minor spots, but overall, I am pleased with the result.

Next, we have a birthday card for my Brother In-Law, inspired by a card I saw online ....
I had another play in Photoshop and came up with this ...

Another mix of graphics printed on an ink jet, and shapes & text printed on a Laser, then foiled.  The foil finish is much nicer on this one!  Layered onto 300gsm cardstock with patterned paper as a background.

Then, after reading some more, and watching a few videos on YouTube ......
I tried something different ......

Anniversary card printed on Glossy Photo paper using an inkjet, then put through the laser printer for the text

Look at that foil finish!  just beautiful!

I tried all sorts of backgrounds for this card, then settled on gold foil cardstock - looks very speccy!

I think I am going to play more with this idea ..... it can still do with a bit of fine tuning!

Now to work on my Christmas Card stash.

Cheers everyone, stay safe, stay healthy!
