WOYWW #600

I recently redisovered the wonderful Julia Dunnit and her WOYWW (What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday) posts.

Many years ago, I used to participate fairly regularly, but over the years I let it go .....

I had to tidy up my desk for a Zoom meeting and it reminded me of of WOYWW so I went searching, and I found it still going strong!   In fact, Julia was celebrating #600 ..... such an achievement!

So, for old times sake, here is the photo of my nice & tidy craft desk, ready for a Zoom meeting.

Not a very interesting photo, but much neater than it was.  LOL

Click on the label WOYWW to see my previous posts, or visit Julia and say hello!!

You have a Birthday and you have a birthday ... and you have a birthday

It's that time of year where we have a group of birthdays close together - 2 great nephews, 1 niece and myself.

At least it gave me the opportunity to do some cardmaking - something that I realise I have missed, once I started pulling the cards together.

For the great nephew turning 6, I knew I wanted to use the new stamps I recently got from Blue Edge Crafts

Linking above card with Seize the Birthday - using scraps  This card was made using off-cuts of cardstock - the pirate & sentiment were stamped on an off-cut too :)

then, for the great nephew turning 4, I used these cute stamps from Stampology, Mindy's Zoo
Linking above card with 2CraftyCritters Challenge #43

For the niece, I used these lovely stamps from Stampin' Up, and did a bit of paper piecing :)

With Covid-19 restrictions still in place, we decided to have just a small gathering at our place :)

My own birthday celebrations were fairly quiet - just the two of us, we had our favourite Chinese food for tea (we got take away)

We are thankful here in SA, we have so few cases - they are in Quarantine - but we still need to be  mindful of the various restrictions.

It's a Goal!

Well, it's been a while since I posted here .......

It was the nephew's 18th Birthday and we weren't going to let that one get away without a family get together.

It seems we timed our celebrations just right, as today our SA Government has announced a reduction in numbers for gatherings at home - we are now reduced to no more than 10 people.

Given what is happening in Melbourne, Victoria at the moment, I am more than happy to comply with our current restrictions - I really want this horrible disease/virus gone!

So, stay healthy everyone and take care!

You are not old, You are a classic!

I think this year is going to year of Milestone birthdays for a large portion of my friends .... me included!  LOL

My friend Karen, from high school celebrated her 60th birthday in a big way, with family and friends.  Sadly, I missed out on the party, as I came down with a terrible head cold and decided to keep my germs to myself LOL

Anyway, here is the card I made for her - of course using her favourite colour .... purple!

The Cut it Up challenge is to use your favourite colour (and a die) - one of my fave colours to feature on my cards has to be Gold!

The Sunday Stamps challenge is to pick 3 colours from the graphic below
I used purple, gold, black & green :)

Have a bloomin' good day!

This stamp came with a magazine that I got some time in 2017, and it has proven to be my 'go to stamp' for so many cards.

Happy Anniversary to my Valentine

This week Mr Fixit and myself celebrate 38 years of married life!

This is about as much 'bling' as Mr Fixit can handle LOL

and because we got married the day before St Valentines Day, the theory was that he would never forget the date :)  .......  LOL it always sneaks up on him .....

Happy Birthday .....

..... Gorgeous

I quite enjoy the process of stamping and fussy cutting - but I don't do it often enough!  I love the way this turned out - simple but refined ..... well I think so!  LOL

A close friend turned 60 ........

I love the combination of stamping and die cutting - gives the card a whole other dimension!

The 'records', needle arm & music notes were die cut, but the 'peak meter indicator' was stamped and heat embossed with orange & red.  Traditionally, these peak meters go from green to yellow to orange then red to indicate 'exceeding levels' ....... I just went straight for the orange & red LOL

On Your Wedding Day ...

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Dallow!

Long time friend Roger married his sweetheart on Sunday :) such a lovely day!

Here is the card I made

I am loving working with paper flowers again - and even though I stab myself every time, I love making the tendrals :)

Metal embellishments that have been in my stash for such a long time.

I even made a presentation box to protect the card :)

All wrapped up in a gold organza ribbon!

I am usually drawn to pinks/purples when I craft, but I have no idea why, maybe because Purple has always been my favourite colour since I was a teenager  LOL

As You Like it Challenge - Fave colours - Pinks/Purples (cool)

You can see the engagement card I did for them HERE

And for those that love weddings, and I do, here are a few pics!

I caught a lovely tender moment between them!

Then it was all smiles after the ceremony was done!
