Challenge #14 for UnstampaBelles starts today.

The theme this month is 'Paper Flowers' and we are sponsored by BlueEdge Crafts - my go to online Craft Store.

Prize for Challenge #14
There are paper tole sheets, stickers, ribbon roses and butterflies, a Spellbinders Tulips Pendant die and not shown will be a special pack of our new flower paper.

All entries are subject to the Design Teams' discretion.

Any form of paper creation will be accepted as long as NO STAMPS (Digital or Rubber) have been used (this includes sentiments).

You can find our rules here for further information.

This challenge closes Friday, 31st August 2012 and Winners will be announced Monday, 3rd September 2012 - Remember we are working on Aussie Time.

Due to graphic technology any entry with a graphic image will be subject to the Design Teams' discretion and we will contact you if we feel the entry does not meet the ethos of our challenge blog.

Now for my DT entry.

In my venture to clean up my craft room, and re-use old supplies, I came across a lovely card I had made in a class a while ago, and thought it was absolutely perfect for this months challenge.

This card was made utilising the paint colour samples you can get from the hardware store, and uses two sizes of the same punch.  Place a brad in the middle and you have a cute paper flower.

Please visit the UnstampaBelles blog and see last month's winner.

Each month there are some amazing entries and it really is getting more difficult for the DT to pick a favourite!

Thank you for visiting my blog today - I hope you have a good day.

Remember, any day doing something you love makes it a good day ;-)

Doing what you like is freedom. Liking what you do is happiness.

Sympathy Cards

Sadly, I have had the need for several sympathy cards this week :-(

My Sister-in-Law's uncle passed away after having a stoke a short time ago.  He was a nice man - we had chatted with him many times at various family gatherings over the years.  He will be greatly missed by his family.

Here are the cards I have made:
Supplies used:  SU Elegant Eggplant, white cardstock embossed with cuttlebug, spellbinders square dies, paper flowers, silk ribbon.
Supplies used:   Dark Green Leathergrain cardstock, gold heat embossed handstamped, handcut 3D layered gladiolis stamped on pearl paper, gold sticker embellishments.
Supplies used:   Textured white cardstock base, bazzil bling, white cardstock through cuttlebug, white organza ribbon, silver sticker sentiment, Carl corner punch.

Supplies Used:  Textured white cardstock base, hand stamped hand coloured image on white cardstock, layered on pink cardstock, bling & embellishments added.  Sentiment stamped.

My friend and former work colleague, Julie Lydiard (nee Chapman), passed away after a long battle with cancer.  Two years ago, they told her to go home and put her affairs in order.  Julie had different ideas, so she went about her life as fully as she could.  She tackled everything with good spirits and always had a smile on her face.  Julie will be missed.

Here is a card I sent to Julie just 3 months ago ............  after she had broken her leg ;-(

The iris is a handcut layered 3D image, placed on a cuttlebug background, then placed on a C6 card.

I am working on a card for Julie's husband and daughter this afternoon - it is proving difficult to get started - time for a glass of wine, pity I don't have any sparkling red!

The iris is Julie's favourite flower, and her favourite dessert is Tiramisu, and as you can most probably tell, she is never far from my thoughts - everytime I see irises, I think of her.

Farewell Madam Lunchalot, I miss your smiley face!  Go the Power!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge #28

EDITED: My card was selected as a runner-up for this challenge! Such a wonderful surprise. Woo Hoo!! Will keep you posted on what I have won!
Over on Cuttlebug_Be_Inspired the challenge is to make a Home Sweet Home project.
As soon as I saw all the lovely examples, I just had to make the house card. It will be perfect for my niece who has just recently moved house.
I followed the instructions provided by Cassie Larson.

Using the Cuttlebug, I first embossed the 'house' section the cuttlebug using Swiss Dots, then the 'roof' using Tiny Bubbles. The bottom part of the roof section is raised using sticky dots, so that it slips over the 'awning'. Using my nestabilities, I cut out two windows and a door. Door & windows were attached using sticky dots. a stick-on 'congratulations' sentiment was placed on inside panel.

Hand punched flowers and handcut pots finish off my 'house' and turn it into a 'home'.

I am very pleased with how my little experiment turned out. I can't wait to give this one to my niece.

Mother's Day Card

Here is a Mother's Day card I have made. I particularly like the sentiment and I have been waiting to use this lovely paper for such a long time. I used my new oval Spellbinder Nestabilities, made up some pearl flowers using a Carl Vinca Punch & Leaf punch, layered on pink cardstock and highlighted with gold corner stickers. I think I like the way it looks.
This card is for sale - see my_CraftAuctions_shop
