Thank You

Regular readers may remember we celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary recently.

Here is the card I made for hubby

and here is the card he made an extra effort to get out amongst 'all the people' and get me

and here is the card he picked for Valentines Day

I think I will keep him ..... what do you think?

His family thoroughly surprised us with some beautiful gifts & flowers

Anyway, I thought that the extra effort his family went to for our Anniversary deserved an extra special 'Thank You' so I made two cards for them - one for the Sister-in-Law & Family and one for the Brother-in-Law & family

I had another go at making my own watercolour backgrounds - smooshing 3 different colour inks and then running through Cuttlebug embossing folders and inking raised bits and around edges.  'Thank You' die cut three times and sentiment stamped in Staz On Ganache.  Cardfront mounted to Blue Cardstock.

Quite please with the way these turned out.

Happy Birthday Peter

Another birthday card, for nephew, Peter.   I had a bit of fun with this image from PNG Mart, as the nephew is into music

I first printed the image in colour, then foiled some parts of it

then added a birthday sentiment from Clipart Fairy which was also foiled.

Cardfront was trimmed, then mounted onto black cardstock, black corner stickers added, kindy glitz added to the 'microphone'

All in all, a fun card for a guy!

Happy Birthday - Pop Art Style

Hi everyone
I have another swap card for you today with another technique which has been inspired by a video from Natasha Foote

Inkadinkado Cupcake stamp was stamped using Black Staz On onto four different scraps of patterned paper and then fussy cut.  Four squares were die cut, then mounted onto front of card with 3d foam.  Hand drawn crooked black borders added to squares.  Centre square die cut & stamp with 'Happy Birthday' from Stampin' Up Voila set.

Square Cardstock & patterned papers from Blue Edge Crafts.

Quite a different card for me, but I think I like it  LOL

A Touch of Red

Here are 2 cards from my recent swaps with my Card Swap Group - A Touch of Red and an Open Swap.

I didn't read the brief correctly for the 'A Touch of Red' and made just a 'Red & White' card   DOH!

But then I realised that it would be OK, as I could use it for the 'Open Theme' swap - winner winner!

So here are my cards.

CARD #1

White cardfront embossed with Provo Craft 'birthday' folder (one of the first embossing folders I got when I bought the Cuttlebug back in 2008!)  'happy' & 'birthday' sponged red to highlight.  Balloon die cut 3 times from red cardstock, layered then attached to cardfront.  Red gems to finish off, then cardfront mounted to Red Leathergrain card base.

CARD #2

White cardfront, run through Cuttlebug with Spellbinders M-bossabilities folder ES-014.  'hello' die cut 3 times from red cardstock & layered and added to cardfront.  Gem brad used to attached red paper flower, then cardfront mounted to white cardbase.

Thinking of You + Deepest Sympathy

Sympathy cards are the hardest to make ...... especially when they are for family & friends .....

It just goes to show how small the world is, Adelaide in particular!

My Nephew married the Niece of an old school friend, Rossi, so I always maintained that it made us 'Aunties In-Laws'  LOL

We all went to Taperoo Primary School and here is a photo from our very first School Reunion in 2010 - in the Barossa

LtoR Front:  Di, Sharlene, Rossie
Back:  Anne, Diana, Me, Bronny, Kaye

and one of our School Reunions in 2012 in Victor Harbor ....

LtoR: Debbie, JulieO, Me, Rossi, DebbieC, Sharlene, Anne, Diana, Bronny

it seems like they were yesterday and forever ago .... both at the same time :(

Here we are in 2022 (those that could attend the funeral)

RIP Roslyn Margaret Harrison - no longer in pain, reunited with loved ones.

BLUE CARD:  White cardfront, sponged/blended blue background with right side masked off.  Kaisercraft 'Flutter' and 'Thinking of You' Sentiment stamped in Black StazOn.

black hearts & silver gems added on white section.  Kindy Glitz added to butterflies and cardfront edges defined with blue ink, cardfront mounted onto white card base.

PURPLE CARD:  White cardfront, sponged/blended purple background with top & bottom masked off.  Kaisercraft 'Botanical' and 'With Sympathy' Sentiment stamped in Black StazOn.

I find I keep going back to these Kaisercraft stamps - I have had them for as long as I can remember :)
