I finally got some time (and motivation) to sit down and make a few Christmas cards - have made 8 in total - very happy, quick and easy and fun card to make ...... hopefully, fun to receive too!

A happy occasion .....

My friend Joy needed a wedding card for her partner's niece, and she asked me if I could make one for her.






We also had a belated family birthday catch-up for Mr Fixit's birthday, my birthday, niece Lauren's birthday, Lucas' & Archie's birthday - a lot of chocolate, cake & champagne for that one :)

Sympathy Cards .......

.... they are so hard to make some times.

The last two lots of sympathy card I made, I made two of each, thinking I will have some in reserve for later.

Well, later came quicker than expected.

A friend lost his Mum recently, she had been in ill health for a while, but it doesn't make it any easier.

As his mum was a bit of a quilter and crafter, I sent a pretty, colourful card



and for the second card, I sent this very subtle, almost understated one to an old high school friend, Alison & her sister, on the death of their Father.

Back to the crafting desk to make up some more cards for my stash.

Another sympathy card ......

A very dear friend lost her Mum the other day. 

I have known Kevina and her Mum since about 1964 - we lost touch for a little while during the 70's & 80's but thankfully, through Facebook we have reconnected again.

RIP Joan Franke (nee Brewster/Aldridge) or "Mrs B"

I went through my old photos and was most surprised that I couldn't find one of Kevina's Mum :(

but here is one of Kevina and Myself in about 1971

It is so nice to have a bit of history with one's friends :)

Happy 1st Birthday Archie!

Mr Fixit's niece, Lauren's little boy Archie turned 1 - now I ask you, where has that time gone?

We had plans to go the 1st Birthday party, but illness got in the way.  Mr Fixit was struggling to get over the last little bit of the flu, and we thought it unwise to be around so many children (both for them and for us :) )

Here is a card I made which will be hand delivered the next time we see them.

RIP my friend, Big Al

Sadly, I was in need of another sympathy card - a very dear friend passed away after having serious health issues for quite some time.

His wife's favourite colour is purple, so that is where I took my inspiration.

RIP Big Al, you will be missed!

I hope you are up there with Sue (left) - you look after her!

One of my quilty friends celebrated her birthday in February :)

I made a card nice and early, but it sat in my handbag for a few days before I could put in the mail.

Ofcourse, I then had to wait until the card had arrived before I made this post - Cynthia reads my blogs and I didn't want to spoil the surprise  :)

Feeling Blue .... A Sympathy Card

Sadly, I was in need of yet another sympathy card.

My regular readers may remember my CraftMad friends and the retreat I went to in Queensland in 2014, well ..... our wonderful Hostess with the Mostess has lost her husband, Ron.

Ron was a wonderful man; he put up with all of us women nattering & crafting away :)  I am so glad I had the pleasure of meeting him!   RIP Ron, no longer in pain.

Ofcourse, I had to make a card, and strangely enough, this card came together quickly and was almost an enjoyable process - I found myself smiling at the memories I have of him - such a strange feeling!  I think it was because I was making it for someone who I knew that would really appreciate and treasure a handmade card :)

It was our 35th Wedding Anniversary last week :)

here is the card I made for hubby - I had a bit of fun making this one :)

Inside states: "that's nothing to snicker at"

The Snickers Wrapper style font was from Lettering Delights way back in 2014 :) took me all this time to have a proper play with it - now that I have, I can see a few things coming up in the future :)


I also had an opportunity to play with some other graphics I have purchased from Design Cuts, as part of the Complete Illustration Kit way back in April 2016 :)

This card is for my sister-in-law :)
