Flashback Friday 22.0

Flashback Friday 22.0 is First die cut card ........... had to go back to 2009 for this one, it was also one of the first online challenges I had ever entered ;-)

I had just bought the Cuttlebug, with a few embossing folders, one set of rectangles, and one set of squares - I also used my first Stampin' Up stamps.

My squares and rectangles were further enhanced by using a corner punch to round off the edges ;-)

Happy Birthday Peter!

In my last post, I included a photo of the card I had made for my nephew - a clean and simple card with no embellishments coz it was for a boy ;-(

I kept looking at the card and it seemed so 'unfinished' and most definitely not me!

So I added a bit!

I love this leathergrain cardstock

Challenge #10 UnstampaBelles

Challenge #10 for UnstampaBelles is up and running - boy of boy, where is the time going?

Theme is Colours of your Country's flag
with a bonus technique Shaped Card not square/rectangle

This challenge closes Friday, 4th May 2012 and Winners announced Monday, 7th May 2012 - Remember we are working on Aussie Time.

Here is a quick recap of the rules:

No Stamps! This means no rubber stamps, no digital stamps, clipart or line art which includes pre-coloured versions. Inclusive of sentiment stamps.

You may think this will be difficult, but here are some suggestions on what you CAN use:
3D papertole, decoupage, quilling, iris folding, stitching, beading, origami, fancy folds, cutting machines (e.g. craftrobo/silhouette, cricut), paper punches, canvases, stickers, rub-ons, parchment, etc.......

Due to graphic technology any entry with a graphic image will be subject to the Design Teams' discretion and we will contact you if we feel the entry does not meet the ethos of our challenge blog.

A technique challenge will be included as a bonus.  This will not be a requirement for an entry but if you do use the nominated technique in your project, it will count as two entries for you.

Our sponsor for April is Sticker Store - my go to shop for most of my sticker requirements.

Now for my DT entry.

My nephew is celebrating his 16th Birthday next week - now just where did THAT 16 years go?  next he will want to be learning to drive ;-)

Since the theme is a shaped card, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, but encountered problems with my CraftROBO.  I stuck with it and got a card produced, not without wasting an awful lot of cardstock ;-((  Blue, Red & White  the colours of the Australian flag.

Another clean and simple card - not too fussy or girly for a 16 year old boy.

Card designed and cut using CraftROBO.  Cardstock from Blue Edge Crafts.

Please visit the UnstampaBelles blog  and see who won last month's challenge.

Each month there are some amazing entries and it really is getting more difficult for the DT to pick a favourite!
