Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #24

Over on Cuttlebug Spot Challenge#24 the challenge is to do it twice! .......... Emboss, that is!

I could not wait to try this one.

I used the hearts embossing folder first, then embossed the daisy over the middle. The Daisy image was chalked, as well as the outer edges of embossed cardstock. 'Just for you' gold sticker added, a purple ribbon placed across the bottom. The embossed cardstock was then positioned on purple card.

I do like the way this card turned out - simple & elegant.

House Mouse Challenge 30

Here is my card for the House Mouse Challenge. This week we had to make a card that was not a square. Let me say, I have enjoyed this challenge. I wasn't too sure about mixing ovals with circles, but I think I like the way it has turned out.

I used a circle shaped card, with a small section levelled off on the bottom so that it would stand up. I have covered the card with patterned paper and used cuttlebug with oval nesties to cut out ovals on white & purple cardstock. Image was stamped on white cardstock & coloured in with watercolours and highlighted with kindy glitz. Paper flowers were attached and highlighted with bling & kindy glitz, sentiment has been attached with mounting tape. Outer edge of card has been highlighted with silver border stickers.

Birthday card for Great Niece - 3 years old

Here is a card I made for my Great Niece 3rd birthday. Card was made using 3D images that I won in the blog candy from Linda's blog. I had a ball making up this card, but I did remember the next day why I don't do a lot of these type of cards - my right hand was so sore from all the cutting!

HSC61 But I Need it ......

I have finally submitted a card for a challenge over on Split Coast Stampers, HannaStampsChallenge61 . I have been visiting SCS for some time and have been tempted to submit a card many times, but now I have 'jumped in and got wet' so to speak.

Stamped image has been 'paper pieced' to add a bit of dimension, used cuttlebug to emboss dots, added Kindy Glitz/Stickles to paper flower

MojoMonday #78 Thank You Card

I posted a comment on Linda's blog and I won some blog candy! So I thought it deserved a thank you card, made using the Flourishes stamp that I won as part of the candy!

I used the MojoMonday #78 layout for inspiration.

I used SU Choc Chip to stamp Flourishes Reverse Damask stamp, the small flower from SU Delight in Life and a Thank You sentiment on soft beige card. Brushed the edges with Choc Chip and then layered this card on chocolate cardstock and highlighted card with cream ribbon & pearls. The strip across the middle is a metallic choc brown, but does not show up that well in the photo.

I am very pleased with the way this card turned out - I hope Linda likes it too!

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #21 - Serendipity

This week's Challenge for Cuttlebug Spot here was to make a card using Brigitta's Serendipity technique. I thought it looked like fun, so I gave it a try.

I liked the way my pattern turned out, but decided only to use half of it on a card - it was a bit much as a whole background.

I tore up pieces of two coloured/patterned papers and glued to a piece of cardstock. I embossed the cardstock with swiss dots and used my CB and nestabilities to cut the 3 squares. I used a Carl corner punch on all layers, and placed the dark purple heart cut outs back into the spaces on the top layer. Card has been embellished with ribbon, paper flowers & bling. Gold sticker sentiment has been added - I definitely will have another play with this process - the possibilites are endless.

House Mouse Challenge #28 - men

The House Mouse & Friends challenge blog hold a weekly challenge here

Challenge #28 is for men - we are required to make anything for a male, not the young kind cause that would be too easy but for the grown up kind most of us struggle to make cards (or anything else) for.

I always find men's cards a challenge, so I decided to take part in this one. My challenge level was increased, as I only have two House Mouse stamps - but I think I am happy with the way the card turned out. I would be happy to give it to one or two of my male friends.

Bottom half of card layered with striped paper, embellished with brown ribbon. Pumpkin coloured cardstock was put through cuttlebug using tiny bubbles embossing folder. I coloured in stamped image with water colours - leaving it very simple - and highlighted the cake with stickles/kindy glitz. I then layered the image on black/brown cardstock, made sentiment tag using Make a Wish stamp and corner punches.

I am enjoying taking part in these challenges - I have so much to learn!

Mother's Day Card

Here is a Mother's Day card I have made. I particularly like the sentiment and I have been waiting to use this lovely paper for such a long time. I used my new oval Spellbinder Nestabilities, made up some pearl flowers using a Carl Vinca Punch & Leaf punch, layered on pink cardstock and highlighted with gold corner stickers. I think I like the way it looks.

Cuttlebug Challenge - Button

I was having a play with my Cuttlebug and nestabilities - I like the fact that I can do perfect squares now LOL

I cut squares from some lovely patterned paper and layered them on blue cardstock & applied kindy glitz to edges. The 4 squares were then layered on soft polka dot paper layered on blue cardstock with more kindy glitz added ;-) (just love the kindy glitz) The "it's a boy" stamp had the image of a button on it, so I placed an actual button over it, layered on blue cardstock and attaching using mounting tape.

It took me a while to take a photo, so I hope it is not too late for the Cuttlebug Challenge - Button.
