Quiz Night Donation

some of you may remember in 2011 I donated some purses to the Pregnancy Loss Support organisation (Teddy Love Club).  Well, they recently approached me with a request for another donation for their South Australian Annual Quiz Night - I couldn't say no ;-)

So, after a bit of thought on what would be a suitable prize, I thought a card pack may go down well, and initially thought a 'thank you' card pack would be nice.

I got my supplies out and started planning - but the lovely colours of the cardstock determined what type of cards I made ;-)

TV Remote Control Shaped Card - MK II

 Here is MK II

I did do a little fine tuning - I also gave the card a flat base so that it stands up ........... I forgot about that in the first version  ;-)

this card is now available in my ETSY STORE

I can see where I can make a few more tweaks ;-)  but overall, I am very pleased with how this turned out.

The September challenge closes Friday, 4th October 2013 and Winners will be announced Monday, 7th October 2013 (yippee, on my Birthday) - Remember we are working on Aussie Time.

As I have mentioned previously, I have been slowly going through my stash and have been attempting to make some order of it all ................... remind me to post some pics of my efforts in organising my ever increasing stash of papers and cardstock ......... and embellishments, and bling ...... and the rest ;-)

Anyway .......... back to the halfway inspiration for UnstampaBelles.

I had come across some old cardstock - very thin, too thin to form the base of a card, but wonderful for using in my CraftROBO.

It is Mr Fixit's birthday today ;-)  and as I often do, I used him as a 'crash test dummy' for an idea for a card I have been working on.

His words were ................ "very clever, love!  that's not a photo is it?  you did that yourself!"

well, yes, I did, I used our own remote as a reference, and designed it in Silhouette Studio, but I think it needs a bit of fine tuning before I can put it for sale in my ETSY store ;-)

Another thing on my 'need to make time for' list!

EDITED:   MK II available in my ETSY STORE

Thank You

One of my fellow PACC members had heard I was into a bit of crafty stuff, and asked me if I would like these lovely Paua shells.

and I just had to show my appreciation with a card.
I used up some very old stash on this card.
The 'thank you' topper had been made up quite some time ago that got forgotten, and then put in the box of half finished items.  It had been sitting there so long, that it was actually falling apart.  I trimmed a few elements to get better proportions, sponged new edges, placed new double-sided tape on all the elements,  re-assembled the card.  Lastly, embellishing with ribbon and brown pearls - It was difficult to resist putting more embellishments on it ... after all, it was for a man ;-)

Stamps used:  Flourishes Damask background,  Kaisercraft (I think) Thank You
Cardstock from BlueEdge Crafts

I would like to submit this card to the following challenges:
Just Inspirational Challenges - Ribbons
Our Creative Corner - forgotten things
ABC Challenge - Unlimited (anything goes)
Allsorts Challenge - It's all about the sentiment

Now onto my paper creation.
I got a Scor-Pal recently ;-), yeah, I know, I must be the last person I know to get one .................. and I love it!
I grabbed some scrapbook papers, acetate and my Cuttlebug and Spellbinder dies, and this is what I came up with ;-)
This is the first thing I made with it - in 10 minutes flat!
square box with clear lid

First tryout of new toy

Because it was a test, I grabbed some old scrapbook papers - I used a fresh sheet for the base, but a scrap piece I had miscut for a card was used for the lid, and the acetate is borrowed from where I used to work - I won't say where, but since I have not worked there since some time in 2006, I think it counts as OLD STASH ;-)  The centre hole was cut using the Cuttlebug and Spellbinder Circle die.

Interestingly, the circle spellbinder dies were one of the first Nestabilities dies I bought way back in 2009 - I remember thinking when I purchased the Cuttlebug .... "I hope I use this thing a lot"  because it was quite expensive - $100.  I still use it today, at least once a month, sometimes more!

The Scor-Pal site has heaps of projects - the box I made can be found HERE
I can see some great Christmas boxes coming up in the near future ;-)
If you want a metric Scor-Pal, BlueEdge Crafts have them HERE
