Craft Mad Card Swap for May

I have finally got some time, and motivation, to finish my Easel swap cards for May for Craft Mad.

I must apologise to my partner, I left things till the last minute, then life interrupted and put me off my game ;-)

Anyway, here are a few snippet photos to tease my swap partner.

It is a round robin, this time, and I will be getting cards from a different person that I send to ;-)

FNSI & Create & Chat :-(

My plans for FNSI, which actually started at lunchtime so that I could participate in Create and Chat a bit later, were put on hold with the news from UK that my Uncle Frank had passed away.

Uncle Frank came to Australia for a visit in 1993 and he stayed with us for a short time, as well as spending some time with my sister.

We had a ball and have some great photos to look back on.  I am so glad to have had the opportunity to meet him and spend time with him.

We kept in touch when he went back to Wales, using the internet, but he had to disconnect due to the high costs.

Here are a few pics of Francis and myself in 1993.

Here we are in Rundle Mall, Adelaide.

here we are at Victor Harbor - I had his camera, and he had my handbag ;-)

RIP Uncle Frank - 1933 - 2011

Baby, Baby, Baby ;-)

Baby fever has hit our household.

With Riley's first birthday just last week - see card HERE - now we have a baby shower card for Riley's Mum - yes, Riley will have a new little sister soon - around the end of June beginning of July.

I went to a baby shower today, for my nephew's wife.

My own creation using the CraftROBO.

I also made this big carry bag for her and filled it with goodies.
See my other post HERE for details on the bag.

They say Adelaide is so small, well they are right, it seems I went to school with my nephew's wife's aunty - does that make us Aunties-In-Laws??

Creative Mojo on a roll

My creative Mojo is on a roll :-)

Here is a card I have been working on, on and off, for the better part of a year.

I found an image in a Public Domain website and used it as a basis to make a GSD file using the CraftROBO.
Once I got the shape of the onesie right, I made up a shaped card base.

Onesie suit was cut, hand coloured around edges and layered using 3D foam squares.  Sentiment was cut and layered as well.

Next is the inside of the card - once again layered.

This card is for the most special of occasions - my Great Nephew's First Birthday.

Some of you may remember Riley came into this world, along with his brother Shaun, a little bit on the early side.  Sadly, Shaun did not survive.

We are so very happy to be celebrating the First Birthday of this young man.

Stay tuned, there will be a Baby Shower card coming up in the next post.

Happy Mother's Day Mum - I miss you

I came across this lovely old photo of my Mum over the weekend

Alice Shepherd (nee Elmer)  1934-1998

I must confess, I really don't like Mother's Day anymore - my Mum is gone, my husband's Mum is gone and I am not a Mum - the day, and the week leading up to it, just makes me sad.
