CraftMad - July Card Swap Completed

I finally got to finish my card swap for CraftMad - we had to make two paper pieced Christmas cards

I was stuck for a bit - I don't have many Christmas stamps that are suitable to be used with a piecing technique - only the poinsettia, so that was the first card I did.  I had made a card like this a while back for a challenge and really liked the way it came together.  I know it is not strictly paper pieced, but I love the effect of the layering of this stamp, it always looks beautiful when made up.
Next is a card made using an old free digital image from Pollycraft - unfortunately, it looks like it is no longer available.  It made me realise, I really should use these digital images more often.   Image was printed onto square cardstock and green christmas paper, then cut out and layered onto card.  Peel off glitter stickers were used to place some definition and Kindy Glitze used to highlight the snow.

Next is my personal favourite - I neally didn't give this one away ;-)

Amber Ink (formerly Hanna Stamps) images were placed in a word document and printed on white cardstock and printed again on two different pieces of christmas paper.  Tree & boots were cut out from green, and dress and xmas tree skirt was cut from dotty paper.  Image was coloured in with watercolour pencils and of course, the obligatory Kindy Glitz was used ;-)
A topper was created using Spellbinders deckle edge dies in the cuttlebug and layered on front of card using 3D foam dots. Peel off stickers were used to add a bit of bling.

I really like the way this one turned out and will make up some more for my personal Christmas Cards.

Even the tree has some tinsel ;-)

I hope my swap partner is happy with her cards.

My Toy Society Drop

I managed to do my Toy Society drop yesterday - it was a lot of fun.  Here is what I made for our CraftMad June Sewing Swap:

I decided to place my 'drop' in the Baby Change Room of the Clovercrest Shopping Centre, Modbury, South Australia.

Here is the proof of the drop:

I think I will do another one soon - I enjoyed the challenge - I may even attempt the bear again seeing the first attempt was so bad ;-)

I hope that the blocks find a new home soon.  The Toy Society Blog is  here - check it out, maybe even participate yourself ;-)

I have entered a competition!

Remember this card?
I have entered it into the CraftsUPrint competition - please check the competition out - there are some fabulous cards there.
You can vote for as many cards as you like, but just once a day.  Voting is open till the 10th August.

WOYWW - 4th August 2010

well, where did THAT week go?    I had so much planned for the week - then I got shaped on my plan - I have only been shaped once before - must have been all the WOYWW blogs I visited. ;-)

I am back on full speed now, so I can continue with my visits ;-)

lots of lovely things on my desk, some bits have not moved since last week.

Bottom right hand corner is my CraftMad July card swap - well one of the cards anyway.  We have to swap 2 cards with a Christmas theme using the paper piecing technique.   I found it very difficult to find some Christmas spirit for this one, but I am winning.
Kerry (if you are visiting ;-) ) your cards will be in the post on Monday ;-)

The material blocks are for the CraftMad June sewing swap - we had to make up a softie to swap with our partner, and then do a Toy Society 'drop'.  I will be catching up with my swap partner soon, and hopefully, we can arrange to do our drop ;-)

We have to get photographic evidence of our deeds, and will post photos when done.  Isn't it exciting?

lots of sewing on my desk (please see my sewing blog for those details)
