Happy Birthday Sister ;-)

Happy Birthday to my sister, Barbara

I made this card following the Penny Black sketch challenge yesterday, but was too late to post it
by only 75 minutes **sad face**

I made a matching gift voucher holder too

A lovely flower in my garden

Just love the size of this cactus flower - it is about the same size as a side plate (10/12 cm or 6-7 inches)

Creative Friday ;-)

I managed to have some real creative time on Friday.

I finished one part of my sewing swap for CraftMad - we have to make two material luggage tags

unfortunately, I can only show a snippet of it, as I haven't sent it yet.

This swap is way overdue for me - I had the material cut out for quite a while, but could not actually get to sewing it up, mostly because I was unsure if it would actually work. It is my own design, but my measurements & cutting were way off and it has not come together as I would hope. Unfortunately, some of the links provided in the swap information did not work for me ;-( but I have since been able to get back to one of the links and will use that info for the second luggage tag. So hang in there, Merry, I haven't forgotten you ;-)

I also spent time in my sewing room sorting out fabrics - an easy way to get distracted for a few hours ;-)

see my My Sewing Room for pics.

I managed to complete a label/tag for an Anniversary present for my BIL & SIL 20th Wedding Anniversary.  This tag fits in with the current Lily of the Valley challenge of glitter & glitz and the Copic Oz challenge of feathering.

It does not show up too much on the photo, but the hair is feathered with two different colours.

Here is what the images look like without the glitz - a bit sad don't you think :-((

This is what is inside the package

B&B book celebrating 20 years

I know the present is really for my SIL, but I have included a voucher so that BIL does not feel too left out.
I am a bit of a fan myself, and my fave characters were Thorne & Darla.
I almost don't want to give to her - but I am sure she will let me read it when I want ;-)

Postman always knocks twice ;-)

well my postie knocks and then rings the bell ;-)

I have had some goodies delivered for the craft room and am hoping to get some stamping done real soon.

I have been wanting some LOTV stamps for quite a while now, so I finally bit bullet and ordered some from the UK.

I also took advantage of the high Aussie dollar and got some WOJ stamps from USA – I am still waiting on them to arrive.

I recently bought some stamps and ribbons from Blue Edge Crafts - such quick service!

Now to find some time to craft ;-)

My Blog has attitude ;-)

...........or so Merry from Merry Made Cards & Crafts thinks. :-)

Thank you Merry, I am very honoured.

Now there is a catch to this award.......and that is....this award comes with a $5 gift certificate from Digis with Attitude Store ! All you have to do is follow a few simple steps!

First I must tell you 3 things about myself.
1. At the age of 16, my very first job was as a sewing machinist in a jeans factory.
2. I am thankful that I have been married to my best friend for 28 years.
3. My last job was two years ago, but I am not stressing out about being unemployed - yet :-)

Second I have to give this award to 5 other people (random order).
Annmaree

Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to complete all the steps required to claim the digi images, but please, don't let that stop you from completing the steps required (if you wish to).

To redeem your gift certificate click HERE and follow the instructions.

Happy Birthday Cathie

I made a card for a friend's birthday

It is in the mail and hopefully will get to her on Monday.

I went for clean and simple this time round - using Cathie's fave colours - PURPLE
Stamped Penny Black image, coloured with copics and highlighted with kindy glitz, mounted with foam dots onto cuttlebug birthday embossed white card.

I made the tag to go on the front, but didn't like it on the front (no matter where I put it), so I put it on the inside.  I hope Cathie likes the card.

Lavender Friday

Colourful Friday is Lavender - being hosted by http://kaingahappenings.blogspot.com/ for the month of november.

Most of the lavender colours we have around our house are flowers ;-)

We have one lavender bush, mexican glory, and a rose called 'blue moon'.  The agapanthas is in the BIL garden.  Cards and beaded bracelet were handmade by me ;-)

Not the Craft Fair, but better ;-)

I decided not to go the Craft Fair yesterday - I couldn't stand the thought of the crowds and all those prams and wheelie carts.

But I went on a crafty shopping trip anyway ;-)

I went for a drive to the new Gepps Cross Spotlight - let me say, I love my little Clovercrest, the staff are just great, but the Gepps Cross store is about 4 times the size!  It is so well laid out and organised and so VERY neat and tidy and the staff are GREAT too!

I got some great fabric and bits and pieces

I picked up a colour guide - hopefully, it will help me in picking my fabrics

great aussie sunburnt country browns & golds

navy & white and grey & white

fat quarter bundle - I don't normally like greens, but I am quite taken with this combination.

After visiting Spotlight, I went on a mission to locate Need4Bead - a new store opened up close to me.  A friend recommended I go and have a look.  Let me tell you, I was most impressed with this new store.  Staff were great and most helpful.

I only spent $20, but I got all of these!

It could be a dangerous thing with a bead shop now so very close - only a 10 minute drive ;-)

I even have some 'spending money' leftover from my birthday and have been making a 'wish list'

Anyone else going??

Weekend Away with the Girls

Hi everyone,

I have just got back from a weekend away in the Barossa for a mini school reunion with 10 of my primary school friends - some of us have not seen each other for 35 years or more!   We stayed at the Barossa Valley Tourist Park, which was much bigger than we expected and the cabins were clean and reasonably well maintained.  In fact, THIS was my actual cabin for the weekend.

The weather was a bit cold and windy, which is a bit unusual for this time of year, but it did not dampen our spirits.  We ventured out and about anyway.

We visited Maggie Beer's Kitchen and got to taste some goodies.  The Burnt Fig, Caramel & Honeycomb Ice Cream is just GAWGEOUS!  See my other blog Cathy's Kitchen for more pics.

Saturday was spent sightseeing - we went to Maggie Beer's , Angas Park Fruit, and Wohlers

There were some beautiful rose bushes out the front of Angas Park Fruit - the most gorgeous red.

Sunday came around far too quickly and it was time to go home  **insert sad face here**.

It was a great weekend, but I am glad to be home, back in my own bed ;-)
